Therefore Offices, Shops, Schools, Colleges, Hotels, Public Houses, Restaurants, Cafes, Night Clubs, Factories, Warehouses, Hotels, Bed & Breakfast, Motels, Residential Care Premises, Nursing Homes, Healthcare Premises, Hospitals, Clinics, Doctors and Dentists Surgeries, Property Management Companies, Letting Agencies and Landlords who legally require a specific Fire Risk Assessment for common areas of Residential Apartments, Flats, Maisonettes and Houses of Multiple Occupation are required to comply.
The "Designated Person" is now responsible for Fire Safety Management arrangements and must nominate employees who are competent to carry out Fire Risk Assessments, produce Fire Emergency Plans, become Fire Wardens and Deputies and ensure that employees are trained in the use of extinguishers where necessary.

Fire Safety is only one of the many safety issues which the Responsible Person must address to minimise the risk of injury or death to Relevant Persons.
A Fire Risk Assessment is concerned with mainly Life Safety from Fire, however many of the significant findings will impact upon other Health and Safety issues. Although the safety requirements in Fire and Health and Safety differ they are influenced by and directly affect one another.
